The Tarhealers Cycling Team Ride for AIDS Prevention with the Help of Open Eye Cafe!
over 30 Local UNC Healthcare Professionals and friends rode in the 2011 UNC AIDS Walk and Ride to raise funds for the Alliances of AIDS Services – Carolina.
Team Tarhealers, were sponsored by the Open Eye Cafe who, along with area businesses, Carrboro Family Medicine & Summa Consulting, helped them in their fundraising efforts.
the UNC Tarhealers bike team were the largest participating team and the second largest fundraising group, raising over $6900 . Their contributions added to the $57,369 raised by the event this year. The teammates rode 30, 60, and 100 miles in support of those in our community living with HIV/AIDS.
