UNC Habitat for Humanity Fundraising Art Show, “Mixed Concrete”, at Open Eye Cafe

On Saturday, January 21, 2012, the UNC Habitat for Humanity Honduras Global Village Team will begin a two-week fundraising art show benefiting the spring break service trip to build houses in Honduras. The main event is hosted by Open Eye Café & Carrboro Coffee Roasters who for the past 8 years have worked diligently to bring a sustainable and equitable relationship with coffee farmers in Honduras, as evidenced by their Direct Relationship Program that highlights coffee grown by small family farms.

The silent auction of the student artwork will take place on Saturday, January 28th from 1-7 pm. We are inviting all members of the surrounding community to come check out the artwork and help out this great cause. Throughout the two-week exhibit, the Mixed Concrete exhibit will showcase the talent of over fifteen UNC students with artwork bridging various mediums, sizes, and themes.  The show will provide a wonderful opportunity for students, faculty, friends, and members of the entire Chapel Hill and Carrboro community to come together in support of a great cause.
