What is a CSA?
Subscribing to our Fall/Winter Produce CSA is the best way to guarantee a fresh supply of great, local, sustainably raised produce this winter. Although many local farms offer Summer CSA programs, we are one of the few to grow almost as much produce in the winter as we do in the summer. We are able to do this by using a number of season extension techniques like completely solar (no fossil fuel) greenhouses, low tunnel hoops, floating row covers and lots of succession planting. A typical Fall/Winter CSA box will contain 4 to 6 items each week consisting of lettuces and leafy greens like mesclun, arugula, tatsoi, spinach, romaine and hearty greens like collards, bok choy, kale, chard and headed crops like broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage and roots like carrots, beets, turnips, radish, sweet potatoes and lots more.
How does it work? The Fall/Winter Produce CSA lasts 22 weeks and consists of $23 worth of fresh picked, local produce each week. The subscription fee for the season is $500. There is an optional egg CSA that can be added on to get 1 dozen pasture raised eggs each week as well for an additional $110 (total of 22 dozen eggs) and we also offer a monthly Meat CSA for an additional $489.60 for 6 months.
