Roastery’s Scott Conary to be Head Judge for the first Philippine National Barista Championship

The search for the country’s official representative will happen during the  first Philippine National Barista Championship on February 1 and 2, 2013, at the Megatrade Conference Center in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City, in an event organized by the Association of Filipino Baristas, Inc., and Espresso World.

Scott Conary will spend 2 days before the Competition working with & certifying judges  from the Country & around the world so they are prepared to correctly assess the Champion who will go on to represent the Philippines in the World Barista Championship (WBC), held in Melbourne, Australia this year – May 23-26

Now on its 12th year, the World Barista Championship is considered the most prestigious coffee-making competition in the world and has even been called the “Olympics of Coffee.”

Competing in three elimination rounds, contestants have to create 12 coffee beverages,
consisting of four espressos, four cappuccinos, and four signature drinks, within a 15 minute time frame.
